As a contestant in the Mrs. Idaho pageant I get to attend a lot of great events in our community. On December 2nd I was able to help out at the festival of trees Gala and Silent Auction. What a great night. The night was to help Meals on Wheels. A big thanks to Marcie Messmer and Amy who were so kind to show us what we were to do to how help with the auction. The night was well organized and I am sure they worked very hard to make the night memorable.
I have a soft spot in my heart for this organization because I had a very ill mother who suffered from Arthritis and was bed ridden the last 10 years of her life. I was very young and I felt so blessed that she was able to get meals on wheels because my siblings and I were not always home to help her out. I know that she made friends with the people that showed up daily to drop off her meal. Rain or shine they were always there and I know it helped brighten her day.

My passion ever since has been to teach others about what I have and help others gain a healthier life style so they may live a healthier life. I believe we all have a choice about how we live our life. If we choose a healthy lifestyle by eating right and exercising we can live a happier more satisfying life. I love speaking publicly and sharing my story so I can help others realize they can achieve their goals. It’s hard work but it is so worth the hard work in the end.

Running for Mrs.Idaho International 2009
I am running for Mrs. Idaho International 2009. Preparing for the pageant has been a great way to celebrate the great changes I have made to my inner soul and my body. 2008 was one of the toughest years of my life at the same time I look at the year as a blessing and it has brought me to where I am now. I feel the last year and the 13 before that and what I have learned in those years has been preparing me to run for Mrs. Idaho. I am so excited about the journey I will be taking that leads me to the pageant March 19th and 20th.
Doing the pageant has also been a great to get to know some wonderful ladies, Miss and Teen's. We have been to some wonderful events together and a workshop and it has been so fun getting to know the other woman in the pageants.
I have chosen Type 2 diabetes as my platform. Running for Mrs. Idaho has given me some great opportunities to talk to people about having Type 2 diabetes and getting the word out about how a healthy life style can prevent it.
